Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim have released former German international Markus Babbel from his position as manager of the club.
The German outfit have won just three of their 15 matches in the league this season and pressure had been building following the poor start to the season.
The 40-year-old began his managerial career at Stuttgart in 2008 before eventually taking the position at Hoffenheim in February.
General manager Andreas Muller told reporters: "After careful consideration, and in agreement with the club management, as well as the board members, I have decided to make a cut.
"Our increasingly threatening sporting situation and the continuing negative trend have left me with no choice."
Reserve team coach Frank Krammer has been appointed as the club's interim manager.
