Hamburger SV and Hoffenheim have played out a 1-1 draw in this afternoon's Bundesliga clash at the Imtech Arena.
The visitors took the lead on the quarter-hour mark when Anthony Modeste fired home following a smart pass from Roberto Firmino.
Hoffenheim, buoyed by breaking the deadlock, continued to mount attacks and nearly doubled their lead in the ensuing minutes through Modeste and Firmino.
Soon, however, Hamburg pulled themselves back into the game when Pierre-Michel Lasogga collected a Tolgay Arslan and fired past Oliver Baumann.
With the game now open, both sides marauded forward and took turns to threaten, with Firmino smashing a shot against the upright in the 55th minute.
Lasogga also struck the woodwork with just 11 minutes left of the game, when his shot cannoned off the bar.
Ultimately the points were shared to leave Hamburg struggling in 16th place and Hoffenheim sitting pretty in third.
