Mark Uth scored the equaliser in the sixth minute of stoppage time as Hoffenheim moved off the bottom of the table with a 1-1 draw against FC Ingolstadt 04.
Hoffenheim looked the sharper of the two teams for much of the first half, but chances proved to be difficult to come by early on as neither side looked keen on taking risks.
The game sparked to life before the break when Tarik Elyounoussi found the space to play through Kevin Volland, who sliced his effort wide from a tight angle in the box.
Volland came even closer to making the breakthrough just a few moments later, but the Germany international could only rattle the post after being picked out by Eugen Polanski.
A shift in momentum arrived early in the second half as Ingolstadt enjoyed more possession, and an extended spell of pressure produced the opening goal after the hour mark.
Roger delivered the goods for the hosts as he won the battle to take the free kick on the edge of the box before leaving Oliver Baumann helpless with a stunning effort.
Predictably, Ingolstadt dropped deeper to protect their advantage but their reluctance to commit men forward ensured that the pressure continued to be piled on by Hoffenheim.
Any hopes of a draw looked to be over for the visitors as the final whistle approached, but Romain Bregerie's hesitation in the box allowed Uth to win possession before firing past Ramazan Ozcan to secure a point in dramatic fashion.
