Houston Dynamo have come from a goal down to defeat DC United 3-1 at home in the first leg of their MLS Eastern Conference final.
United took the lead at the BBVA Compass Stadium in the 27th minute when Nicholas DeLeon slotted home from close range after Lionard Pajoy's curling shot had come off the post.
The hosts failed to equalise in the remainder of the first half but found the target thrice in the second 45 minutes.
Andre Hainault restored parity in the 51st minute when he fired home from close range.
Then midway through the half Will Bruin put Houston ahead after United goalkeeper Joe Willis parried a Giles Barnes cross on to his path.
Houston further strengthened their grip on this two-legged semi-final tie nine minutes from time when Kofi Sarkodie shot home for their third goal of the match.
