Mark Robins pleased with Huddersfield Town's second-half performance

Mark Robins says that Huddersfield Town were much improved after the break in last night's Championship encounter with Blackpool at the John Smith's Stadium.

Huddersfield Town boss Mark Robins has praised his players for their reaction in the second half of last night's 1-1 draw with Blackpool.

James Vaughan's 10th goal of the season cancelled out Ricardo Fuller's 27th-minute opener at the John Smith's Stadium, which ultimately earned the hosts a point.

However, the Terriers might have claimed all three had the 25-year-old striker converted a late penalty after Angel Martinez had tripped Sean Scannell.

"I thought we were really poor first half," Robins told Sky Sports News.

"The changes had the desired effect and I was really, really pleased with the second half, as pleased with the second half as I was disappointed with the first half.

"Even though it's the early part of the season, we've got to keep believing and keep picking points up."

Robins said that Vaughan was "devastated" after smacking the crossbar with his spot kick, but has backed the former Everton and Norwich City striker to bounce back quickly.

"He's devastated," the 43-year-old added. "He feels like he's let everybody down, it's the end of the world, but he'll be OK again tomorrow."

The Yorkshire outfit travel to Teeside to face Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
