Darren Moore will officially begin life as Huddersfield Town head coach on Monday evening, as the Terriers continue their Championship campaign away to Coventry City.
The visitors are currently 16th in the table, boasting eight points from their opening seven matches, while Coventry occupy 18th, sitting on seven points from their first seven games of the campaign.
Match preview
Coventry made the final of the Championship playoffs last season, losing out to Luton Town on penalties, with the Sky Blues therefore remaining in the second tier of English football for 2023-24.
Mark Robins's side have found it difficult to get going early this term, only collecting seven points from their first seven matches, which has left them down in 18th position in the table.
Coventry have been relatively tough to beat, only suffering two defeats, but they have won just once, sharing the points in four games thus far.
Robins's team will enter this match off the back of a 3-2 defeat to Cardiff City on Tuesday evening, with the Welsh outfit leading 1-0, 2-1 and then 3-1 before Matt Godden netted the second of his two goals late on.
The Sky Blues will need to put a run together in the coming weeks in order to move up the table, and they won both league games against Huddersfield last season, scoring six times and conceding zero, including a 2-0 victory in the corresponding contest against the Terries.
Huddersfield have entered a new era under Moore, who was appointed head coach last week following the departure of Neil Warnock.
The 49-year-old surprisingly left Sheffield Wednesday over the summer after leading them to the Championship, but he is now back in work, and it will be fascinating to see what the highly-rated manager can achieve with the Terriers this season.
Huddersfield finished 18th in the Championship last season, which was a huge disappointment considering that they were third in 2021-22, and it is difficult to imagine them pushing high up the table this term.
The Terriers are currently 16th in the table, boasting a record of two wins, two draws and three defeats from their seven matches, which has seen them collect eight points.
Huddersfield have actually picked up seven points from their last three Championship games during a strong run, beating West Bromwich Albion and Rotherham United before drawing 2-2 with Stoke City last time out, which proved to be Warnock's final match at the helm.
Team News
Coventry will be without the services of four first-team players for this match, with Milan van Ewijk, Ben Sheaf, Fabio Tavares and Callum O'Hare on the sidelines through injury.
Godden has made an excellent start to the season, finding the back of the net on five occasions in seven appearances, and the 32-year-old will again feature in the final third of the field.
Haji Wright has only netted once this term but should continue in attack, while there could be a reshuffle at the back due to Van Ewjik's injury, with Joel Latibeaudiere potentially moving forward into the wing-back role.
Huddersfield also have four players out of action, with Daniel Ward, Jonathan Hogg, Loick Ayina and Oliver Turton unavailable for selection.
The goals have not exactly flowed for the Terriers early this season, only managing eight in the Championship, with Jack Rudoni leading the goalscoring charts with two.
There could potentially be a change in the final third for this match, with Delano Burgzorg pushing to be involved from the first whistle, and he could come in for Kian Harratt, who was replaced at the interval of the clash with Stoke last time out.
Coventry City possible starting lineup:
Wilson; Binks, McFadzean, Kitching; Latibeaudiere, Kelly, Eccles, Dasilva; Palmer; Wright, Godden
Huddersfield Town possible starting lineup:
Nicholls; Pearson, Helik, Nakayama, Ruffels; Rudoni, Kasumu, Wiles; Thomas, Koroma, Burgzorg
We say: Coventry City 1-1 Huddersfield Town
Coventry have been the draw specialists this season, sharing the points in four of their seven Championship matches, and we can see another stalemate here. Huddersfield are set to be fired-up under their new manager, and they should be good enough for a point on Monday night.
