George Boyd's header just before the break has given Hull City a 1-0 lead over Swansea City at the KC Stadium in the Premier League.
The returning Maynor Figueroa created the first opportunity of the game by curling in an inch-perfect cross for Shane Long, but the striker's volley from close range was pushed to safety by Michel Vorm.
Boyd, returning from a three-game suspension, linked well with Long on the edge of the box, but he was the latest player to be denied by Vorm, who managed to easily collect his weak effort.
Swansea had a rare chance to break the deadlock when Wilfried Bony's through-ball found Wayne Routledge, who failed to execute a lob with Steve Harper off his line.
Hull continued to look threatening and were eventually ahead in the 39th minute when Boyd pulled away from Angel Rangel to head past a helpless Vorm.
