Hull City boss Steve Bruce has revealed his delight with his side as they registered their first win of the Premier League season despite being reduced to 10 men before half time in their clash with Norwich City.
Robbie Brady scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot before Yannick Sagbo was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident involving Bradley Johnson.
Bruce told BBC Sport: "We are obviously delighted to get up and running, it was vitally important. We couldn't have made it more difficult for ourselves with the sending off.
"We always knew this would be a big game for us, at home. We are delighted we have got away with it and defended remarkably well for long periods. For an hour or so we've had to defend.
"It gives us a lot of confidence that we can play at this level. We have got to be at our best but we can take some pride in our performance."
Next up for Hull is a trip to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City next Saturday.
