Hull City boss Steve Bruce has hailed George Boyd following his match-winning performance against Birmingham City.
Boyd scored a brace along with Mohamed Gedo while Robert Koren added another to seal a 5-2 win for Bruce's side.
"If there has been a better home debut, I haven't seen one for a long time. He was terrific from first to the last," Bruce told reporters.
"He's a good player. You can talk about tactics, formations and systems but this kid oozes ability.
"He can play with anybody. He's a clever footballer. He's made the difference today at an important time."
Hull are now just five points behind leaders Cardiff City in the race for promotion from the Championship.
