Hull City have announced the appointment of former Sunderland coach Steve Bruce as the club's new manager.
The 51-year-old emerged as the leading contender to take the position at the KC Stadium following reports that the Championship outfit had offered the job to the ex-Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic boss.
Bruce, who has signed a three-year deal with the Tigers, has made it clear that his main priority is to take Hull back to the Premier League.
"After speaking with the chairman and his son - the one thing they wanted was to bring back the Premier League days if we can," Bruce said in a press conference.
"That's the aim, that's the reason why I'm sitting here for the challenge of it. I've been out for a while but I wanted to come back with something of a challenge and I'm delighted to be here and relishing the challenge of trying to get the club back to where we all want it to be."
Bruce was dismissed from his managerial job at Sunderland last November.
