Hull City owner Assem Allam has admitted that the club could leave the KC Stadium if they are promoted back to the Premier League.
The Tigers were relegated from England's top division in 2010, but a run of form has taken them into fourth spot in the table and therefore among the favourites to secure a playoff position.
"I don't see the future of the club being at the KC Stadium. If we get promoted, then there are other plans," Allam told BBC Sport.
"There is no future for me and the KC Stadium unless it is freehold. If you rent a house, then you don't pay to put an extension on it."
The building of the KC Stadium was completed in 2002 and cost in the region of £44m.
