Hull City midfielder Mohamed Diame has revealed that it 'felt great' to return from a knee injury against Rochdale in the League Cup.
The Senegal international made his first appearance since December last night as the Tigers reached the third round of the competition with a 1-0 win.
"It was a great feeling and it's just nice to be back enjoying football again," Diame told the club's official website. "I didn't feel too bad considering it was my first game back. My knee felt perfect and that was the most important thing after everything.
"I felt I could play football the way I wanted to again. Training and playing are never quite the same so it was good to be involved in a few strong challenges. I needed that."
Hull return to Championship action on Saturday when they welcome Preston North End to the KC Stadium.
