Hull City boss Steve Bruce insists that his side have the ability to beat Manchester United next week to give them hope of Premier League survival.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce is hopeful that there will be one final twist in the relegation battle to save his side from the in the Premier League drop.

The Tigers fell to a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday to leave themselves in the bottom three going into the final game of the season, needing a victory over Manchester United to have any chance of survival.

Bruce told BBC Sport: "You can't come to Tottenham and create five or six good chances and not take one. We've switched off at the back and they have taken their chances.

"In terms of the way we played, no disrespect to Burnley but if we played like that against them our chances wouldn't be in the hands of others. We have to believe we can beat Manchester United next week.

"Six or seven of the players got me into the league a few years ago. They have big hearts. We've missed some of those big players during this season. We have a chance. Is there one final twist? Can we upset the apple cart. Let's hope we can do it."

Hull are 18th in the Premier League table, two points adrift of Newcastle United in 17th place.
