Adriano has targeted a return to the Brazilian national team after re-signing for Flamengo on a six-month deal.
The 30-year-old is out to impress at his boyhood club and has his sights set on playing in the 2014 World Cup.
He said: "The dream of every footballer is a World Cup in his country. I have to go through some stages and I will endeavour to do things seriously to return to the Brazilian national team.
"Naturally it is still a dream, but if I do everything right to get back to being the Adriano of before, I think I have the capability to return to the team."
Adriano, who has played in Italy for Inter Milan, has scored 27 goals in 48 appearances for Brazil.
