Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has admitted that an upheaval over the summer was exactly what the club needed to improve.
Following their disappointing finish of ninth in Serie A last season, coach Andrea Stramaccioni was replaced by Walter Mazzarri, who has seen his side take 10 points from 12 to start the new season.
"To be honest I think a year like this was needed," Handanovic told Sky Sport Italia. "It's useful to start over and build from scratch. This year our aim is to earn our place in Europe again.
"I don't know about the title. It's a long season. We have to concentrate on the now, on tomorrow, the day after tomorrow..."
Handanovic joined Inter last summer from Udinese.
