Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini has labelled his team 'useless', after their poor build-up play led to hardly any chances during their 0-0 draw with Empoli.

The 50-year-old criticised his team's use of the ball and became frustrated during Inter's performance against a struggling Empoli.

"At times we just held the ball without going anywhere and that's useless. The strikers need to move around more and create openings," Mancini said, according to Goal.com.

"Everyone needs to do more. It's not one or two players but starting from the back, having the courage to take risks and play the ball. We are Inter - struggling under pressure from opponents is not our style.

"We didn't create much, sat too deep and were scared in the beginning. We didn't play from the back and that's why we were under pressure, as we didn't keep the ball."

Mancini has improved the club's fortunes since arriving, gaining a point from league leaders Juventus earlier in the season, as well as recently comfortably beating Genoa 3-1.

However, the Nerazzurri coach urges patience and reveals that 'one win won't change everything'.

Inter sit ninth in the table, one place behind rivals AC Milan, who they are level on points with.
