Inter Milan right-back Javier Zanetti has insisted that new coach Walter Mazzarri has the calibre required to restore the club to the upper reaches of Serie A.
Last season Inter finished ninth in the league which led to the dismissal of previous coach Andrea Stramaccioni.
"We must start challenging again," Zanetti told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "We have to bounce back this season and to do that we need a strong squad.
"[Mazzarri]'s an excellent coach with clear objectives. To be a great team you need a charismatic tactician and Mazzarri is that.
Inter's Serie A campaign starts with a home clash against Genoa.
