Inter Milan bounced back from two consecutive defeats to record a 2-0 win over Chievo in Serie A this evening.
Mateo Kovacic gave the visitors the lead on 19 minutes when he made the most of some indecision at the back post to pounce on a loose ball and stroke home.
Roberto Mancini's side continued to press after the opener, although Maurco Icardi was unable to make a telling connection on a ball into the box as they searched for a second.
The home side were nearly level when Riccardo Meggiorini tried an ambitious overhead kick, but he was denied by an excellent save from Samir Handanovic in the Inter goal just after the half-hour mark.
Inter thought that they had doubled their advantage after the break, but Danilo D'Ambrosio's strike was cleared off the line.
However, the Nerazzurri did not have too much longer to wait to make it 2-0 as Andrea Ranocchia flicked home D'Ambrosio's delivery 10 minutes into the second period.
