After two games without a victory, Internacional got back to winning ways at the weekend and they will be keen to continue that form when they host America Mineiro at the Biera-Rio Stadium.
The visitors will make the trip on Thursday and they are currently enjoying an eight-game unbeaten streak that has seen them climb into the top half of the table.
Match preview
Internacional put together a strong performance on Sunday when they defeated Chapecoense 5-2, with a hat-trick from Yuri Alberto helping to seal the victory before the first half was even finished.
The win brought an end to a two-game run without one, after suffering a defeat to league leaders Atletico Mineiro and then a draw with Ceara, as they failed to score in either match.
Considering the fact that they have a game in hand on several of the teams ahead of them, there is still a real chance for Diego Aguirre's men to climb up into the top four with a strong finish to the season.
However, their home form is not the greatest, as they have only managed to win five of their 11 matches at the Estadio Beira-Rio, which is something they will be keen to improve upon.
The last time the two teams met this season it took a late goal from Rodrigo Dourado to secure a point for Internacional after Ribamar had initially give America Mineiro the lead.
On Thursday, the visitors will be aiming to go one step further and win the game, which would cut down the gap between them to just two points in the table.
The club are currently enjoying a fantastic unbeaten run that has lasted eight games, with their most recent outing leading to a 1-1 draw against Juventude.
America Mineiro have shared the spoils four times during this recent period of matches, but they have also showcased their defensive capabilities as half of the fixtures in this golden spell have led to clean sheets.
That is something they will be aiming to repeat in midweek, but after gaining promotion to Serie A last season, they have adjusted to Brazil's top flight brilliantly.

Team News
Internacional were able to welcome several players back into the starting lineup at the weekend, with Victor Cuesta slotting back into the defence after serving his suspension.
Taison made a return to the team following a bout of flu and he made an immediate impact, getting on the scoresheet within the game, which should have secured his spot for Thursday.
Gabriel Boschilia was also able to come back from injury, but he only made an appearance later on in the 5-2 victory as he came off the bench to get some minutes under his belt.
However, Aguirre will still be without his main danger man, Edenilson as he is away on international duty with Brazil, but after Alberto scored three goals on Sunday, that may not be a problem.
The visitors do not have Orlando Berrio at their disposal at the moment due to an injury he suffered in September, and the club are also missing Eduardo, who is still rehabbing a problem from July.
After another positive result at the weekend continued America Mineiro's impressive form, there is a chance that there will not be any changes for the starting lineup on Thursday.
Internacional possible starting lineup:
Daniel; Saravia, Cuesta, Mendez, Moises; Lindoso, Dourado; Mauricio, Taison, Patrick; Alberto
America Mineiro possible starting lineup:
Cavichioli; Diego, Potiguar, Eduardo, Marlon; Juninho, Kal; Azevedo, Egea, Ademir; Ribamar
We say: Internacional 1-1 America Mineiro
These two teams drew 1-1 last time they played each other, and it could easily be the same result on Thursday as well, with both of them heading into the game in good form.
Each club have been hard to beat in recent weeks and the confidence within the squads will be clear to see in this match, which could lead to them cancelling each other out.
