Some of Ipswich Town's squad and manager Mick McCarthy have been hit by a virus in the run-up to tomorrow night's FA Cup third-round replay against Southampton.
McCarthy confirmed that midfield trio Cole Skuse, Ted Bishop and Jay Tabb missed training and are unlikely to feature against the Saints on Wednesday.
"There's a virus going around the place that is laying one or two of them low," McCarthy told a press conference.
"I'm actually quite pleased because it knocked me low for about a week and I thought I was getting soft.
It's made me realise that I'm not as soft as I thought I was when younger, fitter people have been affected."
Southampton, meanwhile, will be without Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld for the match at Portman Road, where the winner will advance to a home tie against Crystal Palace in the fourth round.
