Iran goalkeeper Alireza Haghighi has backed the team to impress during their World Cup clash with Argentina tonight.
The Iranians, who drew 0-0 with Nigeria in their opening match, need to avoid defeat against the Argentines if they want to stand a chance of reaching round two.
While Iran are expected to find life difficult against one of the favourites to win the tournament, Haghighi believes that he and his teammates are capable of providing tough opposition themselves.
"Argentina are without doubt one of the three best international teams in the world at the moment, with good players who are based at big clubs, but Iran always excel in tough situations. I can guarantee you that we'll show you a lot of good things on the pitch," he told FIFA.com.
Haghighi has won seven caps for Iran since he made his international debut four years ago.
