Former Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro has been named manager of Saudi Arabia champions Al-Nassr, according to reports.
Following the sacking of Jorge da Silva on Friday, Football Italia claim that World Cup winning captain Cannavaro has signed a deal to replace the Uruguayan on an eight-month contract, with a one-year extension optional.
The 42-year-old, who retired in 2011 after a year with Dubai club Al-Ahli, has previously managed Guangzhou Evergrande in China.
During his club career, Cannavaro won La Liga twice with Real Madrid, and the UEFA Cup with Parma, while also having stints with Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan. In 2006, he won the Ballon d'Or.
