Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has said that he would be happy with a 1-0 win against Malta away from home on Tuesday.
The Azzurri will take on their European opponents at the Ta' Qali National Stadium in a World Cup Group B qualifier.
"Would I be happy with a 1-0? It depends on how we go about securing it," he told reporters on Monday.
"The points are what matter right now. But I'm convinced that you get results by playing well. I hope we create as many chances as we did against Brazil (in a friendly international on Thursday that ended in a 2-2 draw).
"To get six points from our next two games – Malta and the Czech Republic – would be of fundamental importance in terms of qualification."
Italy are currently a point clear at the top of the group with a game in hand over second-placed Bulgaria.
