Paul Pogba's fine goal has given Juventus a 1-0 lead at half-time of the first Turin derby of the season against Torino at Juventus Stadium.
The hosts started the match three points behind their rivals after a poor start to their Serie A title defence and they were dealt an early blow when Sami Khedira had to be replaced by Juan Cuadrado after picking up an injury just 10 minutes into the match.
That did nothing to dampen the raucous atmosphere as Pogba smashed an effort from 25 yards straight at Daniele Padelli, and after 19 minutes the Frenchman produced a moment of magic to opening the scoring.
Paulo Dybala dummied over Cuadrado's ball infield and Pogba took one touch before lifting the bouncing ball over the goalkeeper's head from 25 yards to put Juve ahead amid a cacophony of noise.
The visitors responded well to the setback, however, and former Bianconeri man Fabio Quagliarella stabbed wide from close range moments after he had dragged a free kick off-target as they looked to get a foothold in the match.
Dybala curled narrowly wide of the post as the hosts went for a second before the break, but they were lucky to reach half time with a lead as Quagliarella's shot from Cristian Molinaro's shot was blocked on the goalline before being scrambled clear.
