Seeking to snap their eight-game losing streak and begin a late push from the drop zone, Venezia take a trip to the Allianz Stadium to square off with Juventus on Sunday.

Massimiliano Allegri's side, on the other hand, are currently on a four-game unbeaten run and will head into the game seeking to keep their slim title hopes alive.

Match preview

Juventus ensured they mathematically remained in the Serie A title race when they fought back from one goal down to pick up a 2-1 victory over a dogged Sassuolo side last Monday.

After going behind to Giacomo Raspadori's 38th-minute opener, Paulo Dybala scored on the stroke of half time to level matters heading into the interval before Moise Kean netted off the bench to complete the comeback with two minutes left to play.

Prior to that, Juventus booked their place in the Coppa Italia final when they claimed a 2-0 victory over Fiorentina in the second leg of their semi-final clash on April 20 after grinding out a 1-0 win in March's reverse leg.

Allegri's men are now unbeaten in each of their last four outings across all competitions, picking up three wins and one draw since a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Inter Milan on April 3.

Juventus, who have lost just once in their last 20 Serie A outings, are currently fourth in the league standings and must avoid any slip-ups in their final five games of the season if they hope to keep their title chances alive as they sit eight points off first-placed AC Milan.

However, the Turin giants will fancy their chances of making it three straight wins in all competitions this weekend as they go up against an opposing side who they are unbeaten against since 1999, picking up five wins and two draws from their seven encounters in that time.

Venezia, on the other hand, were left empty-handed once again when they fell to a 3-1 defeat against Atalanta when the sides squared off at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo last Saturday.

Mario Pasalic, Duvan Zapata and Luis Muriel all hit the target to put Gian Piero Gasperini's side three goals up before substitute Domen Crnigoj grabbed an 80th-minute consolation.

Gil Arancioneroverdi have now lost each of their last eight games, while they have failed to taste victory since seeing off Torino 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on February 12.

With 22 points from 33 games, Venezia are currently rooted to the bottom of the league standings, six points adrift of 17th-placed Cagliari just outside the drop zone with five games to go before the curtain closes on the 2021-22 campaign.

Their underwhelming performance this season has been owing to their struggles at both ends of the pitch, as they hold the division's second-worst attacking record with 27 goals scored while shipping 61 so far.

Team News

Juventus will once again have to make do with the absence of several key players down the spine of the team as the likes of Federico Chiesa, Arthur, Kaio Jorge and Marley Ake have all been sidelined through injuries.

The duo of Manuel Locatelli and Weston McKennie adds to the Bianconeri's midfield crisis as they continue their spells on the sidelines due to ligament and ankle problems respectively.

Allegri will also be without the experience and versatility of Juan Cuadrado after the Colombian international came off with a muscle injury in the Coppa Italia game against Fiorentina on April 20.

After drawing blank against Sassuolo, Alvaro Morata has now failed to score in six consecutive club games and the Spaniard could see his spot come under threat from Dusan Vlahovic, who started off the bench against the Neroverdi.

Following last week's defeat to Atalanta, Paolo Zanetti has been relieved of his role as the Venezia boss, with 43-year-old Andrea Soncin announced to take over the reins.

On the injury front, the visitors will take to the pitch without the services of the Italian duo of Marco Modolo and Luca Lezzerini, who have been ruled out with knee and tendon injuries respectively.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero is set to sit out his seventh consecutive game after the 35-year-old picked up a knee problem in March's game against Sassuolo.

Venezia lost 31-year-old midfielder Antonio Vacca to a muscle injury in the clash with Udinese on April 10, while Nigerian defender Tyronne Ebuehi misses out through a hamstring issue.

Juventus possible starting lineup:
Szczesny; De Sciglio, Bonucci, De Ligt, Sandro; Bernardeschi, Danilo, Zakaria, Rabiot; Dybala, Vlahovic

Venezia possible starting lineup:
Maenpaa; Mateju, Caldara, Ceccaroni, Haps; Crnigoj, Ampadu, Cuisance; Aramu, Henry, Okereke

We say: Juventus 2-0 Venezia

While Venezia will be desperate to keep their survival hopes alive, next up is a rampant Juventus side who are mathematically in contention for the Scudetto. Given the gulf in class and quality between the sides, and their contrasting form, we are tipping Juventus to come away with all three points.
