Juventus have made it 12 wins in a row in Serie A with a 4-2 victory over Sampdoria this evening.
The hosts almost took the lead in the 15th minute when Carlos Tevez made his way through the defence and worked space to shoot, only to lift the finish over the bar having done everything else right.
The deadlock was broken just four minutes later, however, as Arturo Vidal collected Paul Pogba's pass inside the box before placing an effort into the bottom corner.
Sampdoria almost responded immediately, coming within inches of equalising just a minute later when Manolo Gabbiadini hit the post with an effort from outside the box.
Juventus's second goal came in the 24th minute when Fernando Llorente rose highest in the box to meet a corner and nod it past Angelo da Costa in the Sampdoria goal.
Tevez came close again just before the half-hour mark when he hit a powerful effort towards goal that Da Costa did very well to tip onto the post.
Sampdoria were handed a lifeline in the 39th minute as Andrea Barzagli inadvertently turned the ball into his own net to make it 2-1.
However, the hosts were quick to restore their two-goal lead, doing so just three minutes later when Vidal converted from the spot after Vasco Regini had conceded a penalty.
Both sides came close after half time, with Lorenzo De Silvestri drawing a fine stop from Gianluigi Buffon and Llorente firing a shot narrowly wide of the left post.
It was the visitors who would get the next goal, however, as Gabbiadini latched on to a corner and diverted the ball past Buffon to reduce the deficit to one goal once again.
Gabbiadini almost completed a remarkable turnaround shortly afterwards when he went for goal from just outside the area, only to see his strike clatter against the crossbar.
Juventus made the most of that let-off and sealed all three points with just over 10 minutes to go courtesy of a fine strike from Pogba, who fired a shot into the top corner from 20 yards.
Pogba had another chance with just three minutes of normal time remaining, but this time he couldn't find the target, sliding his shot just wide of the post.
Juventus saw out the closing stages without incident to maintain their perfect home record this season, restoring their eight-point lead at the top of Serie A in the process.
