Juventus have reportedly denied claims that Paul Pogba's contract could be terminated amid his continued injury problems.

The France international arrived back in Turin from Manchester United in the summer of 2022, but he is yet to make his second competitive debut for the Old Lady.

Pogba suffered a serious knee injury while on pre-season duty with Juventus against Mexican side Chivas in July, but he initially opted against surgery in the hope of playing at the World Cup.

However, the 29-year-old would suffer a setback and be forced to go under the knife, missing the World Cup as 2018 champions France lost to Argentina on penalties in the final.

After stepping up his recovery during the winter break, Pogba was an unused substitute for Juve's 2-0 loss to Monza on January 29 before suffering another cruel setback.

Bianconeri boss Massimiliano Allegri revealed that the midfielder was dealing with soreness in his flexors, forcing him to miss their 1-0 win over Lazio in the Coppa Italia on February 2.

Tuesday's clash against Salernitana will also come too soon for Pogba to make his comeback, and a recent report claimed that Juve were open to the idea of terminating his contract.

The Old Lady are allegedly growing increasingly frustrated with Pogba's time in the treatment room, where he continues to pocket his weekly £170,000 salary on a four-year deal until 2026.

However, journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Juventus have shot down such rumours and have no plans to release Pogba from his contract in the coming months.

While the former Man United man is still waiting to make a competitive appearance this season, Romano states that Juve are 'waiting' for his return and are not considering the possibility of severing ties.

Barring any further complications, Pogba could finally make his second debut for Juventus when the Old Lady host Fiorentina in Sunday afternoon's Serie A clash.

The Frenchman initially joined Juve on a free transfer from Man United in 2012, and he amassed 34 goals and 40 assists from 178 games for the club during a productive spell under Allegri.

Pogba won four Serie A titles before returning to Old Trafford in a £93.2m deal, but he struggled for consistency and fitness in the Premier League and left again on a free transfer last summer.

Juventus enter Tuesday's game against Salernitana languishing in 13th place in the Serie A table, having been deducted 15 points after being found guilty of false accounting last month. body check tags ::
