Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham has been named as the Comeback Player of the Year by the Major League Soccer board.
The prize is handed to the player adjudged to have made the best recovery from a lengthy injury.
Beckham has been handed the award having spent six months on the sidelines with an Achilles tendon injury that he suffered during a loan spell with AC Milan.
The former England captain returned to gain 15 assists throughout the season and score two goals, statistics which also saw him named in the MLS Best XI.
Beckham's contract with the Galaxy expires later this month.
