Landon Donovan's fourth MLS career hat-trick was not enough to see Los Angeles Galaxy claim all three points at FC Dallas on Sunday evening.
Dallas, who have now failed to win in their last nine league matches, earned a dramatic draw thanks to Blas Perez's equaliser four minutes from time.
Perez had earlier given Dallas a 2-1 lead on 48 minutes, after Donovan had cancelled out Matt Hedges's early opener in the first half.
Donovan's second of the night came from from long range before his third, which was brilliantly assisted by Hector Jimenez, looked to have secured Galaxy's first away win since June.
However, to the delight of the majority of supporters inside FC Dallas Stadium, Perez squared the game up once more with a crisp volley after Galaxy had failed to properly clear a free kick.
