The Los Angeles Galaxy produced a stunning comeback in the second half to beat the Colorado Rapids 4-3 in a thrilling encounter in Denver.
It was a hectic start to the contest as Colorado broke the deadlock in the 14th minute when Marlon Hairston fired a loose ball home from six yards out, before Edson Buddle doubled the lead just four minutes later by drilling in an inviting cross from Dillon Powers.
Galaxy pulled a goal back in the 20th minute through Robbie Keane, who collected an inch-perfect pass from Dan Gargan and slotted past a helpless Clinton Irwin.
The two-goal advantage was restored on the half-hour mark in impressive fashion as Marc Burch picked out the top corner with a free kick from 30 yards out.
Deshorn Brown could have piled on the misery for the visitors just before the interval, but Jaime Penedo responded well to block his powerful strike.
It took 10 minutes of the second half for the Galaxy to pull a goal back as Omar Gonzalez lost his marker inside the box to hammer home an inviting free kick from Landon Donovan.
Los Angeles were on top after scoring their second of the night, and the comeback was complete when Alan Gordon capitalised on space in the area to convert a flick-on from Gonzalez.
Both sides were willing to take risks to find the winner, but it was the visitors who produced the dramatic finish when Donovan latched on to a through ball from Keane before slotting home.
