Sporting Kansas City have clinched an MLS playoff place with a 2-1 win over LA Galaxy on the final day of the regular season.
The match was a slow burner, but shot into life after 26 minutes when Dominic Dwyer's shot was saved by Donovan Ricketts.
Graham Zusi's shot was blocked and Kevin Ellis called Ricketts into action again in the 38th minute.
The Kansas City pressure paid off moments later, when Ellis hit the back of the net from close range.
Robbie Keane levelled the score in first-half stoppage time when his shot found the bottom right corner.
Steven Gerrard's attempt to give LA Galaxy the lead after the break was saved by Tim Melia.
Dominic Dwyer gave Kansas City the lead, and a place in the playoffs,in the 65th minute with a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner of the net.
Krisztian Nemeth had chances to extend Kansas City's lead in the closing stages but Ricketts kept three attempts out.
Kansas City will travel to Portland next week in the playoff knockout round while LA Galaxy will host Seattle Sounders.
