Lazio have narrowly missed out on a Champions League spot on the final day of the Serie A season, despite a 3-1 win over Inter Milan at the Olympic Stadium in Rome.
Udinese's 2-1 win at Catania has meant that Edoardo Reja's side will have to settle for Europa League football next season.
The visitors were ahead at the break from the penalty spot after Maicon had been brought down by Cristian Ledesma. Diego Milito calmly slotted into the bottom corner to give his side the lead.
Ledesma made amends on the hour when his corner was headed in by Libor Kozak to draw Lazio level.
The turnaround was complete on 63 minutes as Antonio Candreva's powerful shot made its way past Luca Castellazzi and into the net.
Lazio sealed the win in injury time through Stefano Mauri.
