Wigan Athletic have taken a 1-0 lead into the break of their Championship match with Leeds United this afternoon after Liam Cooper put the ball into his own net.

Leeds enjoyed more of the ball during the game's opening exchanges, but there were no real goalscoring opportunities early on.

Sam Byram caused the Wigan defence problems down the right with his pace before having a shot at goal, but it was blocked well.

The Latics went in front when James McClean's cross was chested into his own net by the unfortunate Cooper.

Leeds responded well and Mirco Antenucci floated a cross into the box which Billy Sharp connected with, but his header hit the crossbar.
