Noel Hunt is expected to return to training for Leeds United next week after missing the last two months because of a hamstring injury.
The 30-year-old, who joined Leeds over the summer from Reading, has not featured for the Whites since the away game at Derby County on October 5 but is now ready to step up his recovery.
"Hopefully Noel Hunt will join in with training next week," United assistant manager Nigel Gibbs told the club website.
"He is rehabbing really well. He has been outside running and working really hard so we are looking forward to getting him back in the group next week."
Hunt's return comes at a welcome time for the Yorkshire club following loanee striker Dexter Blackstock's season-ending injury.
