Brian McDermott has said that Leeds United's late defeat to Reading was difficult to accept.
Adam Le Fondre popped up with the winner for the home side deep into stoppage time with the Championship match poised at 0-0.
"That was tough to take tonight," the former Royals manager told Sky Sports News. "I'm not sure why the referee was still playing. I've no idea.
"It was an awful feeling conceding so late but we did it to Brighton earlier in the season. But it won't define our season. We didn't deserve to lose that game but that's what Alfie (Le Fondre) does and he does it well.
"I'm gutted for the fans who travelled all this way. I've lost in playoff finals before [with Reading] and that was horrendous. It wasn't horrendous tonight but it was not nice and we move on."
The defeat means that Leeds are 11th in the league after seven matches.
