Gus Poyet has said that he doesn't "understand" why Simon Grayson was sacked as Leeds United manager.
The Brighton & Hove Albion boss was speaking after Grayson's three-year spell at the club was ended by the Leeds board yesterday.
"I didn't understand the decision," Poyet told Southern Counties Radio. "I like Ken Bates but sorry Ken, you're wrong.
"I see Simon's record and it's very good. But he's the chairman and you live by your decisions. You can analyse whether it was the right decision at the end of the season."
Uruguayan Poyet also played down any talk of switching to Elland Road, a former club of his, any time soon, adding: "I will go back at any time but not right now. It's a magnificent place to manage."
Poyet's Seagulls meet Leeds in the league on February 11 with the pair currently tied on 42 points and separated by just a single goal.
