Neil Redfearn: Leeds United are "alive and kicking"

Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn is adamant that the club are "alive and kicking" despite turmoil off the field.

Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn has insisted that it is "business as usual" at the club despite Massimo Cellino failing in his appeal to have his disqualification as owner overturned.

The Football League rejected Cellino's appeal against the disqualifying condition of its owners and directors' test, and was forced to relinquish his role at the club until April 10.

However, the decision didn't affect the side's performance on the field as they defeated Championship leaders Bournemouth 1-0 at Elland Road, recording their first victory in eight games in the league.

"It's business as usual," Redfearn told reporters. "I spoke to Massimo on Monday and obviously he was a little bit flat, you can imagine so.

"But he basically said nothing changes. He said it's still my football club, I'm still in charge of it, somebody else will sign the cheques, somebody else will be in front of it, but it's business as usual.

"He wants it to do well. He's as focused and driven as ever and the good thing is the performance shows this club is alive and kicking. It was a great performance. [Bournemouth are] the best footballing side in the division. First half in particular we pressured them to death."

Leeds are 19th in the Championship following their win over the Cherries.
