Sports Mole previews Saturday's early Championship kickoff as struggling Yevil host troubled Leeds at Huish Park.

Leeds United will look to put their off-field troubles behind them when they travel to Huish Park to take on bottom-of-the-table Yeovil Town on Saturday.

Leeds have been embroiled in a calamitous saga over the past couple of weeks, with the club being the subject of failed takeover bids and being issued with a winding-up order over unpaid debts.

In addition to that, manager Brian McDermott was reportedly sacked and then un-sacked as the troubled club was plunged into further disarray in bizarre circumstances.

However, they responded in style on the field last Saturday, coming from a goal down to beat Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town 5-1 with McDermott's name ringing around the stadium.

That was the club's first win in nine matches, and McDermott will be back in the dugout this weekend as he looks to revive his side's playoff hopes.

The Whites are now eight points behind sixth-placed Reading, although they do have a game in hand over the majority of other teams in the race for a playoff spot.

They have lost nine of their last 12 away matches in all competitions, the most recent of which was the horror show at Hillsborough as they went down 6-0 to local rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

However, they do boast the league's top scorer in Ross McCormack, who scored a hat-trick in the win over Huddersfield, and he is expected to start up front alone once more despite Matt Smith being available again.

As for Yeovil, they will be looking to take advantage of the off-field unrest at Leeds to ease their own on-field troubles.

The Glovers are now bottom of the table following a sixth defeat in their last seven league matches on Sunday, leaving them six points from safety.

They do have a game in hand over Millwall, who currently occupy the coveted spot just above the dotted line, but there is no doubt that things are looking bleak for Gary Johnson's side.

They have won just one of their last nine Championship outings, conceding 20 goals in that time, although they have run the likes of Burnley and Derby County close in the past month.

Yeovil's home form has been particularly poor so far this season as they have only won two matches and picked up nine points in front of their own fans - the worst record in the division.

Johnson was not as busy as he would have liked to have been in the January transfer window, but he could have a fully fit squad to choose from on Saturday, with Liam Davis the only injury doubt.
