Blackburn Rovers have sealed a 2-0 win against Leeds United in Thursday night's Championship clash at Elland Road, the visitors scoring twice in the first six minutes of the game to seal all three points.
Gary Bowyer's charges struck after just 17 seconds played as a Chris Taylor cross was misjudged by Sol Bamba, allowing Craig Conway the time and space at the far post to lash the ball into the bottom corner.
Just five minutes later Blackburn doubled their lead after Tom Lawrence weaved through the backline and squared for Jordan Rhodes, who turned inside the box and slotted home.
Steve Evans's side rallied towards the end of the first half as Mirco Antenucci volleyed into the side-netting at the far post and Tom Adeyemi smashed a header against the woodwork, but Blackburn successfully hung on until the break.
The visitors proceeded to take the sting out of the game after the restart, their defenders shutting up shop at the back and leaving Leeds unable to muster anything more than a half-chance.
In a largely uneventful second half, Blackburn's Grant Hanley suffered a cut to his forehead after a clash with Luke Murphy just after the hour, and had to be replaced by Matthew Kilgallon.
Lewis Cook and Antenucci weighed in with speculative efforts in the latter stages of the match, but Blackburn goalkeeper Jason Steele was equal to them as the visitors saw out the game and clinched all three points.
Leeds remain three points above the Championship drop zone in 18th place, while Blackburn climb to 14th following their win.
