Leeds have beaten Bristol City 3-0 in Neil Redfearn's first game as temporary manager since the sacking of Simon Grayson.

It was Bristol who dominated the game in the opening stages, with Yannick Bolasie and Albert Adomah causing plenty of problems in the wide areas.

As the game went on, both sides' hard work began to limit the attacking opportunities. Leeds's goalkeeper Lonergan was called into action on 26 minutes, smothering a Kilkenny shot from distance at the second attempt. Bristol City responded with a counter-attack that forced Lonergan into a save from Adomah.

However, it was Leeds who took the lead on 41 minutes courtesy of Robert Snodgrass, who finished off a well-worked move with a calm finish. Danny Pugh laid it back to Ross McCormack, who then fed the ball into Snodgrass. The Scot stroked it home for his 11th goal of the season.

Moments later, Bristol City were reduced to ten men when James Wilson brought down McCormack, who was racing towards goal. After a fairly even first half, Leeds went into half time a goal and a man up.

Leeds came out for the second half enjoying some good possession. McCormack headed in a Snodgrass cross, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Bristol went down to nine men on 58 minutes, with Bolasie picking up a second yellow for a foul on Adam Smith. Snodgrass then almost scored a second, when he dribbled through three players to work an opening, but his shot was blocked on the line by Liam Fontaine.

McCormack had the ball in the net after a being put in by Fabian Delph, however he was again denied by an offside flag. McCormack finally got the second in the 79th minute, firing a left-foot shot beyond David James after being set up by Adam Clayton.

Leeds grabbed a third goal in injury time through Luciano Becchio before seeing out the game to claim an impressive victory.
