Leeds United have recorded their first league win in eight games, beating promotion contenders Crystal Palace 2-1 this afternoon.
Luciano Becchio almost gave the hosts an early lead when he headed towards goal, but Julian Speroni was equal to his effort.
Owen Garvan was the first to test the Leeds keeper, finding space to shoot before unleashing an effort that Paddy Kenny had to be alert to keep out.
Kenny was called into action again soon after, saving Jonathan Parr's strike before reacting quick enough to also keep out Glenn Murray's rebound.
It was Leeds who took the lead, however, as a deflected cross fell to Becchio, who took full advantage to make it 1-0.
United benefited from another deflection for their second goal as Paul Green's effort from inside the box took a nick on the way through to give Speroni no chance.
Palace almost grabbed a dramatic late equaliser when they had a chance cleared off the line in stoppage time, but Leeds held out for a valuable win.
