Leeds United and Reading drew 0-0 in a dull encounter in the Championship this evening.
There were chances aplenty in the early stages though, and Leeds midfielder Casper Sloth saw his deflected shot drop just over the bar within the first two minutes of the first half.
Reading were also a threat, and Marco Silvestri had to be alert to deny both Nick Blackman and Simon Cox within the opening 10 minutes.
Neither side were afraid to shoot from distance and Alex Mowatt tried his luck from 25 yards in the 11th minute, but it whistled over the crossbar.
The game then began to settle down, but Mowatt drove another effort over the bar as half time approached.
Mowatt was certainly Leeds's best player on the night and saw another strike dip narrowly over the bar via a deflection almost immediately from kickoff.
Michael Hector had Reading's first chance of the second period with a header at the back post after 69 minutes, but Silvestri made a reaction save to deny the defender.
Rodolph Austin struck a free kick wide for Leeds while fellow substitute Billy Sharp tested Adam Federici in the late stages, but the game ended goalless.
