Leeds United have sealed the signing of Sampdoria full-back Gaetano Berardi.

The 25-year-old, who has represented Switzerland at international level, has signed a two-year contract at Elland Road.

Berardi leaves Sampdoria after two years with the club, but after making a positive impact in his first campaign with I Blucerchiati, he rarely featured under Sinisa Mihajlovic last season.

The versatile defender becomes David Hockaday's fifth signing since he was placed in charge at the Yorkshire outfit.
