Leeds United striker Ross McCormack says that he wants to stay Elland Road despite offers from a number of Championship clubs.

Leeds United striker Ross McCormack has insisted that he wants to stay at Elland Road and that he is waiting on a contract offer from the club.

The Scottish international has less that 12 months left on his deal at Leeds and has been linked with a number of Championship clubs, including Crystal Palace, Huddersfield Town and Brighton & Hove Albion.

McCormack says that that he sees his future in Yorkshire and is ready to make a commitment to the Whites.

He told the club's official website: "Everyone knows there has been offers for me which have come into the club, I'm just waiting on an offer of a new contract and we'll take it from there.

"I've said from day one, I've got a house here, I've got an eight-month-old baby, my missus is happy here, and my choice would be to stay at Leeds so hopefully the offer is one that I think is acceptable."

Leeds manager Neil Warnock has also been vocal in his intent to keep McCormack for this season.

Warnock said: "Ross knows I want to keep him," said Warnock, I've had a chat with him. His representative will be talking to the club over the next few days.

United have been linked with a swoop for Brighton striker Craig Mackail-Smith in the past 24 hours.

McCormack will hope to be at Elland Road for Leeds's opening Championship game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 18.
