Former Manchester United defender Scott Wootton has signed a one-year contract extension with Leeds United.
The 23-year-old will now be a Leeds player until the summer of 2017 and spoke of his surprise after a recent run in the team following a loan spell at Rotherham United.
"I never expected it to turn around like it has and that is one of the reasons why I'm extra pleased," Wootton told the club website.
"I got a run in the side last season before I picked up an injury at Charlton and I don't think you can get to your best by playing a couple of games here and there.
"It's difficult when you're not getting a run in the side but hopefully I'll stay there from now until the end of the season."
Wootton's return to the team has coincided with a run of five wins in six games for Leeds, who are up to 11th in the Championship.
