A first-half strike from Jamie Vardy has given Leicester City a 1-0 half-time lead over Charlton Athletic in the Championship this afternoon.
The hosts took the lead after only nine minutes when David Nugent played in Vardy down the right channel of the box, leaving the striker to drill the ball into the bottom corner of the Charlton goal.
Leicester looked in command in the early stages of the game, with Daniel Drinkwater pulling the strings from midfield.
The former Manchester United midfielder looked to have set Vardy on his way, but the linesman flagged for offside with the striker through on goal.
City could have made it 2-0 when Riyad Mahrez whipped in an inch-perfect delivery for Nugent, but the striker sent his header over the crossbar.
Vardy also missed a chance to double his tally late on in the half when he headed wide following a cross from Matthew James, leaving City to go into the break 1-0 ahead.
