Two goals in five second-half minutes see Leicester City come from behind to beat Derby County in the League Cup.

Leicester City have beaten Derby County 2-1 in the League Cup this evening after a second-half comeback.

Two goals in five minutes saw the hosts turn the game on its head having been on the back foot.

After an early chance for Tom Hopper, it was Derby who dominated the first half.

Paul Coutts fired just wide before Jake Buxton saw his own header cleared off the goal line. Then Coutts and Craig Bryson both had penalty shouts turned down as the visitors dominated possession.

They finally got their goal three minutes from the break, as Johnny Russell beat two men on the left before firing across the box to Chris Martin, who tapped the ball home.

Nigel Pearson introduced David Nugent and Lloyd Dyer at half time and the hosts immediately improved.

Nugent found space in the box but fired straight at the goalkeeper, before seeing another effort well blocked by Buxton.

The away side came back again though as Russell ran clear on the counter-attack, only to see Kasper Schmeichel get to the ball first.

Russell was involved again straight afterwards, connecting with Craig Forsyth's low cross but firing just wide, before the hosts began their incredible turnaround.

Substitute Anthony Knockaert got Leicester level with a free kick from the edge of the box, before whipping another set piece onto Danny Drinkwater's head allowing the former Manchester United man to put them in the lead.

A stunned Derby were unable to produce any attacks of note after that and it is Leicester who go through to the fourth round.
