Leicester City goalkeeper Ben Hamer has admitted that he was not expecting to make his Premier League debut so early in his career with the club.
First-choice stopper Kasper Schmeichel was ruled out of Saturday's match at Stoke City, but Hamer kept a clean sheet as the Foxes ran out 1-0 winners at the Britannia Stadium.
Hamer has said that he would now like to gain more experience of top-flight football.
"It was sprung on me a little bit and the opportunity has come a little bit quicker than I expected, but you have to be ready," he told the Leicester Mercury.
"I was a little bit nervous in the warm-up because I didn't know what to think about the situation, but it is just another game of football. I took that mind-set, got a good warm-up in and then I got an early touch which settled the nerves a bit.
"It just became a normal game of football to me after that. It was enjoyable, a bit heart-racing towards the end when they were looking for an equaliser, but it was a really good experience and one I want to have again."
Hamer joined Leicester from Charlton Athletic during the summer.
