Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson does not want too much pressure to be placed on winger Riyad Mahrez.
The 23-year-old, who scored against Burnley at the weekend, has impressed during his six appearances in the Premier League this season.
However, Pearson is wary that a rise in expectation levels could have a negative impact on the Algerian's performances in the future.
"One of the dangers for people like Riyad would be that expectation can climb through the roof if you're not careful. What can go with that, and what's probably not as easy to deal with, is those expectation levels may change," Pearson told the Leicester Mercury.
"We have to keep an eye on how players develop and he's done very well in his time here. Of course, he's a young player and he will make mistakes but he will also have a very positive impact."
Mahrez joined the Foxes from Le Havre in 2013.
