Leicester City are reportedly pricing up the cost of relieving head coach Brendan Rodgers of his duties at the club, with the Foxes currently bottom of the Premier League table.

The 2015-16 English champions have lost six of their first seven league games of the 2022-23 campaign, collecting just one point in the process, which has left them in 20th position.

Saturday's 6-2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur has increased the pressure on the 49-year-old, who has accepted that his job is under threat due to the team's poor form.

"I don't know, to be honest. Whatever their [the owners'] decision is, I will always respect it," Rodgers told Sky Sports News after the loss at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

"I think we've seen enough. I felt the team tonight, if you watched them play in the first half, you could see the confidence and creativity. It's just cutting out mistakes.

"There is no doubt we've had a tough first seven games, especially after the summer we've had - Tottenham away, Arsenal away, Chelsea away, Manchester United at home and a couple of other games we should win.

"It [the international break] has probably come at a good time to reset everything, break the cycle from the summer as well. The owners will do what it is they feel they need to do.

"I'm not daft, I know football, and the last six games don't make great reading. But I have every confidence the team can push on and climb the table if they play like they did in large parts and cut out mistakes."

Rodgers also understands that the pressure has increased on him following the heavy loss to Spurs.

"Very much so (pressure has increased). I come in every day and do my work, and we can see the players playing with confidence, but you've got to win games. I understand the frustrations of supporters and I can't hide from that. It's my responsibility," he added.

According to The Sun, Leicester are currently calculating the cost of sacking Rodgers, who is on £10m a year at the King Power Stadium, making him one of the best-paid managers in the division.

The report claims that it would cost the Foxes in excess of £10m to sack the Northern Irishman, who has three years left to run on his contract with the club.

Leicester are allegedly undecided whether they can afford to sack Rodgers, but Brentford's head coach Thomas Frank has already been identified as a possible replacement.

Sean Dyche is also said to be an option for the league's basement side, with the 51-year-old available for the role now, having been sacked by Burnley in the middle of April.
